My other passion!

After graduating from RISD in 1972, I moved west and made my living selling drawings at the Saturday Market in Eugene, Oregon. Eventually the East Coast pulled me back to Boston and I began illustrating kid’s books, ultimately drawing over sixty books for young children and countless educational publications and magazines. It was challenging, and profitable, but the pressure to constantly produce was intense. I needed a change, and my knowledge of children’s books landed me at the Fayerweather Street School where I taught in the library, and designed their publications, displays, games, videos, websites and just about any artistic piece they needed.
Now I am retired and drawing just for myself for the first time in fifty years. The results are unusual to say the least. I have used my extensive knowledge of computer programs to combine, move, twist, and layer divergent images that are then printed on a thick Bristol. Drawing on a lifetime of working with color, those images are then meticulously transformed with layer on layer of colored pencils - blending and changing the images into what you see here.
