I happened upon a giant book called Fishing for Atlantic Salmon: The Flies and the Patterns. It showed hundreds of hand-tied flies with wonderful names – the Bumblepuppy, and the Hairwing, the Gray Hairy Mary, and the Bomber - an entire page of Green Highlander variations. I dug deep. Nowhere did I find Musca domestica, the most obvious choice for fly fishing! River otters know what we have yet to learn. If you want to match the hatch, stick with the locals.
This is a signed archival print on 100% cotton rag paper. The original art is a digital collage of photographs, printed on drawing paper, and meticulously hand-colored. All images are 6” x 6” on an 8” square.
